We would like to thank all of the over 1100 people who showed up on on Saturday, April 16. Together approximately 15 Church families came together to bag 285,000 meals for our friends in Haiti.

What can still be done to help?
The food ingredients, bags, boxes, shipping and other costs associated with building 285,000 meals for Haiti totals $40,000. Churches and individuals have already given around $36,000.
Please prayerfully consider a financial gift to the effort today. You may give here on our website or at any Hometown Bank (Haitian Relief Fund).
"A good target for individual gifts would be $40 per person." The cost of these meals is $40,000 (approximately 14 cents per meal)*. "A good target gift amount for each Church is around $4,000."Some Churches have elected to give toward the cost of the food and shipping for this event. We have Churches that have elected to give out of their missions fund, general fund or a combination of both. Some Churches are encouraging individuals to donate as a part of the offering with "Haitian Relief" in the check memo.
Black Friday
We will also be continuing our efforts to make "Black Friday" a monthly occurance in the Joplin area. What we are asking everyone to wear black, skip their lunch and donate $5 to ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. As many of us learned, some Haitians get 1-3 meals a week. With meals like those we provided on April 16, that $5 donation can provide 35 meals! Also, very soon we do hope to offer "Black Friday" t-shirts with all of the proceeds going to this effort as well.
